After running a series of workshops we have noted that a number of teachers have expressed the need to explore English more in depth so we are offering an occasion to work specifically on pronunciation, rhythm, expressivity and connections with English culture and literature when using English in class.
A workshop which will help you use and explore English with emphasis on the correct use of the voice, freely and imaginatively: from breathing, exploring basic English sounds (vowels and consonants) to the vitality of words and texts and expressing them in the most effective, imaginative and communicative way(s). Finally the participants will have explored different exercises and activities and will be given references to help them remember and practice. Techniques and ideas which can be applied while we are working; both personally and to involve the students.
The activities will include working on stories, poems and texts (structure, rhythm, emphasis, reading aloud and interpretation) which have either been created or chosen by us.
The workshop will be run by Brian Ayres who was trained as an actor and has used his voice professionally in many different ways; theatre, film, recordings (including recordings for educational texts books , CDs and videos), language and literature text books, programmes for children, students, teachers and adults learning, and exploring, English.
The session will last 3 hours, will include a physical warming up session, and will be for a maximum of 25 participants
